Awful library books

What a great blog - includes pictures of books still on library shelves that should have been weeded looooooongg ago: if you are not yet convinced that some of the books on your shelves really need to go, check out CREW weeding manual for libraries, online at http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/pubs/crew/ And if you want an academic article on the pros and cons of weeding, check out: http://www.moyak.com/papers/weeding-books-libraries.pdf As for me, I'll continue to make the hard choices about whether we still need to keep books with titles such as Everybody into the kitchen with Tuna! or Fun Recipes with your Amana Radar Range or Prozac: The Latest in Antidepressant Depression Therapy. Meanwhile, if you come across a title that you think might be one of the most awful ones out there, please consider posting it to the Awful Library Books Blog. If nothing else, it provides a chuckle to those of us who weed. |
