  September is National Library Card Sign-up Month
I guess I must have been living under a rock or something, because I had no idea that September is National Library Card Sign-up Month until I was flipping through this week's Entertainment Weekly last night, and on page 66 there's a big full-page ad with Ben Roethlisberger holding a copy of The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
 
I have no idea who Ben Roethlisberger is but I am assuming, from his attire, that he's a football guy.
 
I think it's definitely cool that ALA is advertising in places like Entertainment Weekly. And thanks to this ad, I just added an announcement at the bottom of our web page saying that September is national library card sign-up month. Thanks to GALCO (Get a Library Card Online) from the NJ state library, I was also able to provide a link for anyone who wants to apply online.
