The modern librarian: a role worth checking out
Of interest: check out this article about the premiere of Hollywood Librarian at ALA last week:

No longer must we be defined as timid, myopic, shushing bookworms! No, as Ann Seidl, the creator of Hollywood Librarian was quoted as saying: "Today's librarian is less likely to be a mousy Marian than the highly trained captain of a one-stop community center, navigating everything from social services to fundraising socials - all on tightly bound budgets."

Let's give ourselves a pat on the back, people. We are librarians. Hear us roar.
