  8 Things Meme
Okay Mary and I have both been tagged by Ty over at the Rock & Roll Librarian.

I already posted 8 things over on LG, but I'm going to try to come up with 8 more here.... I hope Mary will do the same! I didn't tag anyone from that post but I will tag 8 more people from here!

Oh, here are the rules:
Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I hate to walk around barefoot. Even in my own house. When I go to someone's house (like my sister's) and they make me take off my shoes it makes me very uncomfy and upset!

2. My middle name is Jean and it is after my father who was named Eugene. I was the first born and I was given the female version of his name as my middle name. I used to really hate this middle name. But now I really love it. However, I think it is prettier to spell it Jeanne. I might give that as a middle name to my own daughter someday. Jeanne I mean, not Jean or Eugene.

3. I love to read. I mean really, really love to read. I would almost rather read than do anything else. I know that's not a really surprising admission coming from a librarian, but it's just true. I really like to read non-fiction especially and I read a lot of it.

4. I had a crush on my husband when we were in high school before we knew each other! We went to different high schools and he is older than I am but I would see him around and thought he was sooo cool! We didn't meet until many years later and now we're married!

5. I majored in Philosophy in college because I loved taking the classes so much and just couldn't stop taking them! My sister also majored in Philosophy six years later.

6. My mom is the Children's Librarian in Glen Rock.

7. I hate that sound that Anthony Hopkins made in the movie The Silence of the Lambs and if you do it around me I'll scream and run away!

8. I have been to Canada, France, England, Italy and several places in the U.S., but I really want to go to Greece!

And I'm tagging: Kathleen at Library Nation; Laurie at Infodoodads; Emily at Library Revolution; Jill at Library Marketing - Thinking Outside the Book; Phil at Phil Bradley's Weblog; Amanda at Blog Without a Library; Michael at Library Crunch; and Nancy at The "M" Word - Marketing Libraries! There - I did it!

In re: 2.
My family also has a similar naming tradition. My grandfather was named Eugene/Gene... he and my grandmother named my mom Jean, and she in turn gave my sister the middle name of Genevieve. I'm thinking of naming my daughter Genevie (pron. with the soft "g" of French... like Jaques) to continue the tradition. You know, when I stop all this workwork business and start having children ;)

Okay, I'll reply to the meme if you add us to your blogroll. :)

You're not on there yet!? I'm adding, I'm adding.... ;-)

Thanks for giving me some other ideas/alternatives for Eugene/Gene... I don't want to go with Eugenia ever! ;-)

Love it!

Checking to see if comments get emailed to both of us now...

Hi, thanks for tagging me!
I am the first daughter of the first daughter many generations back and our family uses the mother's first name for the daughter's middle name. I'm Emily Elizabeth, Mom is Elizabeth Marjorie, etc etc as far back as anyone knows. My son's middle name name is not Emily. :) I hope I have a daughter some day!
